Role Overview:
As a Senior Stores Person, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining our stores operations, ensuring the efficient flow of materials and components throughout the company. This position will involve working on a late shift or night shift, providing leadership to the stores team and ensuring that all daily tasks are completed to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the stores department, ensuring accurate and timely processing of materials.
- Utilise the company’s ERP system to manage stock levels, track inventory, and process orders (training provided).
- Conduct end-of-day meetings with the team to review the day’s performance and plan for the following shift.
- Ensure that all stock is stored correctly and safely, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the stores area.
- Work closely with other departments, including production and purchasing, to ensure materials are available when needed.
- Lead and mentor the stores team, providing guidance and support to ensure continuous improvement.
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Senior Stores Person or in a similar role within an engineering environment.
- Strong computer literacy, with the ability to quickly learn and effectively use our ERP system.
- Excellent organisational skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong leadership abilities, with experience in conducting team meetings and leading a shift.
- Ability to work independently on a late or night shift, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
