Reporting to the Fabrication Manager, the Powder Coating Supervisor will be required to assist powder coating operatives in the department in terms of safety, coating, quality and cost. Responsible for the powder coating of products, through setting machines, inspecting output from the process, documentation of results, and critical information within the process to allow accurate data analysis. Strive to continually improve using Lean tools to improve safety, reduce costs and improve quality.
Responsibilities:
· Check operative quality inspections throughout the shift to ensure compliance with quality procedures.
· Leading a team of operators.
· Allocating daily/weekly tasks to the team.
· Supervising and checking set ups.
· Ensuring start and end of shift duties are completed.
· Ensuring high standards of organisation and housekeeping are maintained.
· Ensure shift discipline is maintained, monitoring focus on tasks, use of mobile phones, and the planning of breaks.
· Carrying out spot checks to ensure quality levels.
· Management of consumables equipment.
· Ensuring the teams recording of Overall Equipment Effectiveness records are up to date.
· Booking in finished items and issuing materials.
· Champion safe working practices and “Standard Operations”
· Challenge non-conformance and participate as required in the introduction of counter measures.
· Assist in identification and participate in basic Preventative Maintenance procedures to further improve the availability of the equipment.
· Contribute to the improvement of working procedures by constantly looking for solutions to ensure the best productivity results being compliant with procedures, operating instructions and work instructions.
· Assist in providing practical training to new starters.
· Report directly to the Fabrication Manager
· Ensuring Health & Safety Compliance within the department.
· To undertake other tasks allocated by BWC Profiles which are within the competence and capability of the post holder.
Skills & Attributes:
- Demonstrable Experience in powder coating/paint shop/manufacturing
- Management/Supervisor qualification or experience
- Ability to work to multiple deadlines and prioritise workload effectively
- Excellent Interpersonal & Communication Skills
Hours 0700 – 1700 – Mon – Fri
